Meta acquires coding-agent startup Conductor
Conductor’s team will join Meta Superintelligence Labs, while its cloud service is scheduled to close on 20 November.

Meta has acquired Conductor, which develops an app for running multiple AI coding agents simultaneously. Chief executive Charlie Holtz said the startup’s staff would move to Meta Superintelligence Labs. The purchase price was not disclosed.
Holtz announced the acquisition through X and Conductor’s website, saying the team would work alongside Nat Friedman and Alexandr Wang. Meta separately confirmed the purchase to TechCrunch without providing further comment.
Conductor has halted new registrations. Its hosted product, Conductor Cloud, will switch to read-only access on 13 November before closing on 20 November. The company said deletion of cloud users’ data would begin after the shutdown and asked customers to export their work beforehand. Active subscribers will receive refunds, and existing paying customers can use pro features without charge.
Support for the desktop app will continue until early 2027, covering additional models and fixes for critical bugs, Conductor said. The app, introduced in July 2025, allows agents from providers including Anthropic and OpenAI to work concurrently, with each using a separate project copy. Axios reported that Holtz and chief technology officer Jackson de Campos established the startup in 2024.
