Xcode 27.3 beta adds GitHub Copilot coding support
The update also introduces new testing and Device Hub features, with a full release expected in December.

Apple has released Xcode 27.3 beta 1, adding GitHub Copilot as an option within the development software’s coding assistant. Apple’s release notes list the integration among the beta’s new Coding Intelligence features.
Copilot joins an expanding selection of AI tools in Xcode. Apple introduced ChatGPT support with Xcode 26 and later added Anthropic’s Claude. Xcode 26.3 brought agentic capabilities through OpenAI’s Codex and Anthropic’s Claude Agent, while Xcode 27 added Google Gemini support, interactive planning and conversations spanning multiple turns.
Other additions let developers create UI tests using Swift Testing together with XCUIAutomation. Device Hub gains drag-and-drop functions for installing apps and opening links on devices. For iOS simulators, developers can also drop other files into the Files app. Apple’s notes say CarPlay use through Device Hub requires a physical USB connection and does not support iOS Simulator.
The beta includes Swift 6.4, with SDKs covering iOS 27.3 and iPadOS 27.3, plus tvOS 27.3, watchOS 27.3, macOS 27.3 and visionOS 27.3. It requires macOS Tahoe 26.6 or later on a Mac. The full Xcode 27.3 release is expected in December alongside macOS 27.3 and corresponding platform updates.
