Apple says iOS 27.3 will bring StandBy additions that debuted on the iPhone Duo to other compatible models, including the iPhone 11 and newer. The first developer beta has been released, with a public rollout scheduled for December.

The changes include revised Analog and Digital Clock faces, with additional controls for colors and complications. Users will also be able to select Shared Albums for the Photos face, use new Calendar and Weather faces, and create several versions of a face type to switch between by swiping.

StandBy displays a clock and other information when an iPhone is charging in landscape orientation. On the iPhone Duo, it can also operate without charging when the device is folded into a book or tent shape.

Other changes in iOS 27.3 include a vertical tab layout for Safari and the return of Apple's redesigned Health app. The update will also enable some Apple Intelligence features in China.
