Sonos sets November 6 early-access launch for new voice assistant
The trial requires approval and is limited to English in the US, with a full release planned for 2027.

Sonos has scheduled an early-access test of Sonos 27voice for November 6, allowing selected users to try its new voice assistant before a planned full release in 2027. The company said it will use feedback from the smaller testing group to prepare for that release.
Participation requires an application through the Sonos app and the company’s approval. The trial will operate only in English and will be restricted to the US. Sonos 27, the underlying software introduced in September, requires hardware running on the S2 platform.
The company’s support page says Sonos 27voice understands conversational requests and can respond to general-knowledge questions. Sonos says listeners can describe an album without naming it or request music suited to a mood or genre, directing playback to a chosen speaker or area of their home.
Other capabilities include controlling playback, setting timers, providing current weather information and interacting with compatible smart-home accessories, according to Sonos.
Two additional features are being introduced for Sonos 27 users. Presets store music selections alongside playback settings for activation with one tap. System Health, offered in the iOS app, displays details such as speaker connectivity and Wi-Fi network information, and can flag problems in a speaker setup.
