Anthropic agrees to US$3.4 billion gas generator deal, report says
The agreement with Texas-based OnePWR Solutions covers 1.7 gigawatts of generating capacity, according to the Financial Times.

Anthropic signed an agreement in late September to spend US$3.4 billion on gas-fired generators for its data centers, the Financial Times reported. The deal involves OnePWR Solutions, a power supplier based in San Antonio, Texas.
Citing a person familiar with the agreement, the FT said the equipment would provide 1.7 gigawatts of capacity. It described the purchase as the largest known single order for power equipment by an AI company. TNW said it had not independently verified the deal.
OnePWR ordered the generators from Caterpillar about two years earlier but required financing to complete that purchase, the FT reported. Anthropic initially intended to purchase electricity from OnePWR, then instead assumed the generator orders and responsibility for installing the equipment.
The arrangement did not include an acquisition of OnePWR or the transfer of its employees to Anthropic, according to the FT. The generators’ intended locations remain unknown. Both companies declined to comment to the newspaper.
Anthropic is also preparing to go public. Its amended IPO filing disclosed commitments of US$895 billion, with computing capacity and infrastructure accounting for nearly all of that amount.
