Verizon offers US$100 gift cards after iPhone Duo delivery delays
Some revised delivery estimates extend into November, though other customers received their phones on the October 23 launch date.

Verizon has apologized after shipping problems delayed some iPhone Duo pre-orders, offering affected customers a US$100 Verizon gift card. In an email to those customers, the carrier attributed the longer wait to an unexpected shipping delay.
The company said the cards can cover merchandise purchases or bill payments, either online or in stores. Verizon also told customers their orders remained secure and their positions in the queue were unchanged, adding that its team was tracking shipments and working to complete deliveries.
A MacRumors reader named Ryan reported ordering on October 16, when pre-orders opened, with delivery initially scheduled for October 23. His estimate later moved to November 7. Other customers posting on MacRumors Forums, Reddit and social media reported revised dates ranging from October 31 to November 14.
The delays did not affect every Verizon pre-order: some buyers received their phones on October 23. Responsibility for the shipping problem remains unclear. Apple separately described pre-order demand as extraordinary, while delivery estimates for new purchases through its online store had moved into late January.
