Garmin rolls out Fenix 8 beta update with a dozen changes
Beta Version 24.16 addresses navigation, golf and notification bugs, while Dive and ECG features remain disabled.

Garmin has released Beta Version 24.16 for its Fenix 8 smartwatch family, including the Fenix 8 Pro, with a dozen changes covering font support and software bugs. The company’s changelog lists fixes affecting navigation, activity metrics, golf tools and notifications.
The update reportedly should already be available to all participants in Garmin’s Beta Program. Users who have not received it can manually request an over-the-air download. Garmin said in a forum post that Dive and ECG functions remain unavailable on every model covered by the beta.
Among the navigation fixes are a problem that prevented some Garmin Connect courses with long names from appearing after synchronization and a bug that could trigger reboots when navigating with German selected as the system language. The update also addresses missing pack-weight metrics following some activities.
Other changes restore a missing Golf Performance widget and address the golf hole selector. Garmin also lists corrections for storm-alert behavior, swim wrist selection, overlapping text in messenger call notifications and translation problems. Font support now includes additional currency symbols.
