Gene Long's Journey of the West Arrives October 1, 2026, Bringing Grit, Justice, and Old-West Adventure to Readers
Aliso Viejo, California Sep 23, 2026 (Issuewire.com) - Author Gene Long is preparing to take readers deep into the untamed American frontier with the release of Journey of the West: A Group of Stories, available October 1, 2026.
Set against the rugged backdrop of nineteenth-century Texas and the surrounding frontier, Journey of the West is a collection of Western stories filled with lawmen, bounty hunters, outlaws, cattle drives, gunfighters, and men forced to make difficult choices in a world where justice is often delivered from the saddle.
The book opens with "Diary of a Lawman," following a lawman, regulator, shootist, bounty hunter, and soldier newly appointed as a Tejas Territory Pistolero. His journey takes him across dangerous territory in pursuit of wanted outlaws, placing him among saloons, cattle outfits, Rangers, gunmen, and communities where survival depends on courage, awareness, and quick decisions.
The collection later continues with "It's Hard To Kill A Killer," expanding the book's frontier world through the story of an experienced former lawman and bounty hunter attempting to create a new life while discovering that the violence and unfinished business of his past are never far behind.
Through vivid settings and action-driven storytelling, Long presents an Old West shaped not only by gunfights and danger, but also by loyalty, survival, identity, consequence, and the complicated meaning of justice.
Journey of the West: A Group of Stories is written by Gene Long and is scheduled for release on October 1, 2026.
Readers of traditional Western fiction, frontier adventures, lawman stories, and tales of the American West can look forward to a collection built around the grit and uncertainty of life beyond the settled frontier.
