New York-based Priority has introduced the E-Sauce, an electric counterpart to its Sauce bicycle, priced at US$2,199. Available directly through the company’s website, the model pairs a rear-mounted 750 W hub motor with a Gates carbon belt rather than a conventional chain.

The E-Sauce arrives in a class 2 configuration limited to 20 mph (32 km/h). With pedal assistance, its stated maximum speed is 28 mph (45 km/h). Priority says the removable 720 Wh battery offers a range of 60 miles (96 km) per charge, though actual distance depends on terrain, elevation, throttle use, assistance settings and riding speed.

The bike uses a 6061 aluminum frame and a fork developed with SR Suntour that provides 100 mm of travel. Braking equipment consists of hydraulic discs with 2-piston calipers and 180 mm rotors at both wheels. The belt system is intended to reduce maintenance.

Other equipment includes IPX5-rated LED lighting, a taillight, a rear kickstand and a backlit display. The display provides speed, trip distance and odometer readings alongside 5 assistance modes. Accessories supported by the E-Sauce include Priority’s MIK-compatible rack for panniers and cargo.
