Googlebook November update targets security, display and stability issues
Some fixes apply across the laptop lineup, while others address specific HP, Dell, Acer, ASUS and Lenovo models.

Google has begun rolling out its November software update for Googlebook laptops, with security patches for every model and changes spanning seven areas. The rollout follows the laptops’ launch by just over a month, with Google listing fixes for firmware, desktop controls, connectivity and system stability.
Among the general changes, Google says the update corrects inconsistent password and PIN input immediately after waking a laptop. It also addresses crashes while browsing wallpaper choices, reconnects Bluetooth Low Energy mice after restarts and improves Zoom reliability when visual effects are enabled.
For HP Googlebook 14 and Dell XPS Googlebook 13 devices, the changes tackle black screens during protected video playback on external displays and restarts triggered by disconnecting certain monitor setups. Google also lists fixes for Bluetooth audio lag and a change allowing connected compatible hearing aids to receive audio instead of the laptop speakers.
On Acer Googlebook 14, ASUS Googlebook 14 and Lenovo Googlebook 15 models, Google says improvements to memory usage by on-device AI improve multitasking stability on 16GB devices. Those laptops also get stability changes for the Linux 6.18 kernel.
The beta Linux Terminal receives connection fixes and changes designed to preserve user storage and custom openssh-server settings during system updates. Google says terminal keystrokes and console output are excluded from system diagnostic logs. Another fix addresses an interrupted update potentially sending a device into repeated restarts.
