Garmin has begun distributing Beta Version 24.12 for its Fenix 8 smartwatch family, including the Fenix 8 Pro. The company says the software contains 45 changes compared with System Software 23.39 and 23.40, covering reliability, activity tracking and interface behavior.

The update starts the v24.xx software series and is offered to Beta Program participants who manually check for it. Users can open Settings, select System, then Software Update and choose “Check for Updates” to request the download.

Garmin lists 37 bug fixes, including remedies for crashes involving Connect IQ watch faces, restarts when answering calls and failures to receive notifications. Other fixes target audio alerts that stop during activities, inconsistent Bluetooth headphone volume and battery drain associated with Alipay.

The company also says the beta speeds up searches for points of interest and keeps weather information visible during outages. Additional changes prioritize favorite activities when switching sports, revise when course-turn guidance appears and prevent Garmin Pay access through shortcuts or hotkeys while Stealth Mode is active.
