Bedrock Robotics raises US$600 million to expand autonomous excavator deployments
The funding values the startup at US$4.1 billion as it reports paid excavation work without operators at the controls.

Bedrock Robotics said it has completed a US$600 million Series C funding round, with CapitalG and Emergence Capital as co-leaders, to deploy additional autonomous construction machines and expand the field teams supporting them.
The San Francisco startup said its valuation after the investment is US$4.1 billion, bringing total funding to nearly US$1 billion. Bloomberg first reported the financing. In February, Bedrock raised US$270 million at a valuation of US$1.75 billion, according to Bloomberg.
Bedrock adds autonomous capabilities to existing heavy equipment, beginning with excavators. The company said machines equipped with its system have carried out paid jobs at active construction sites since mid-August, with nobody operating the controls. Former Waymo engineers founded the company in 2024.
According to Bedrock, its customer base has grown to more than twice its 2025 size. Its latest partner, Haydon, an employee-owned contractor in Tempe, Arizona, is using the technology for earthwork at a remote Texas site. Haydon also plans trials involving trench work and larger equipment.
Additional customers include Minnesota’s Wagner Construction, Florida’s Smith Trucking Company and Virginia’s B&S Site Development. Bedrock also named Native Excavating in Colorado, Clarkson Construction in Missouri and C.W. Matthews in Georgia.
The US Innovative Technology Fund, Bessemer Venture Partners and Temasek joined the round as new investors. Returning backers included Nvidia, 8VC and Eclipse.
