Covered structures outside Apple’s Fifth Avenue store in New York appear to be oversized iPhone Duo displays as the company prepares for the foldable device’s Friday, October 23 launch. Images posted by X users show the installations near the store’s glass cube.

Wrapping and black coverings conceal the designs, leaving the final presentation uncertain. Inside the flagship, Apple plans to use more than 150 devices for demonstrations and displays, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. He reported that typical non-flagship stores are expected to get around 20 each.

Gurman said demonstration equipment will include a fixture showing the phone folding and unfolding. Another display will use a MagSafe stand to position an open iPhone Duo alongside two conventional iPhones.

Apple has confirmed that limited stock will be available to walk-in buyers in the United States and several other markets. The company warned that it expects launch-day supplies to sell out quickly.

Customers in mainland China, France, Japan and several other markets will need to book a pickup slot through Apple’s online store.
