Custom feeds are also launching, initially for signed-in U.S. viewers using English on mobile and desktop.

YouTube’s Android and iOS apps are getting a navigation redesign that puts Subscriptions above the Home feed instead of in the bottom bar. The change accompanies the introduction of custom feeds, which let viewers describe the content they want to watch.

The relocated tab is labeled “Subs” and sits immediately after Home, marked by a red underline. It replaces the Subscriptions entry that occupied the fourth slot in the bottom navigation, where it had appeared since 2017.

YouTube says viewers can use the plus button above the Home feed to request content based on topics, channels or a mood. The resulting personalized feeds appear as additional top tabs and synchronize with the web version. Viewers can revise them through a prompt box.

Other dedicated feeds cover Live, Music and Movies & TV. Access to the last depends on having active subscriptions, such as Primetime Channels. The redesign also removes the navigation drawer.

The initial custom-feed rollout covers signed-in U.S. viewers using English on mobile and desktop, with more countries to follow.
