Whop raises US$200 million at US$5.1 billion valuation
Sequoia Capital and Shopify Ventures led the funding round as the business platform plans offices in Europe and Colombia.

Whop has secured US$200 million in Series D financing, valuing the Palo Alto-based company at US$5.1 billion, Bloomberg reported. Sequoia Capital and Shopify Ventures led the round, which comes as Whop plans to establish offices in Europe and Colombia.
The company said it would use the funding for international expansion and research into payments and advertising. Sequoia partner Doug Leone will take a board seat as part of the financing, according to Bloomberg. Tether invested US$200 million in February, when Whop was valued at US$1.6 billion.
Bloomberg reported that Whop’s annualized revenue run rate recently exceeded US$400 million, compared with US$60 million at the start of 2025. Co-founder and CEO Steven Schwartz told Bloomberg that transaction fees account for most revenue, with the blended fee averaging about 6%.
Whop provides tools for creating and operating businesses. It says about 25,000 operators generate US$550 million monthly through its platform, while more than 50,000 others earn money each month by providing services to those businesses. The company puts cumulative platform transactions above US$7 billion, spanning 185 countries.
Recent product launches include Whop CLI, introduced in July to let operators manage businesses through prompts using AI agents. Whop also says its Business Blueprints tool created more than 21,000 businesses within six weeks. Another product, Economic Intelligence, uses past transaction data to recommend business actions.
