Switch 2 quarterly sales fall 41% as Nintendo keeps annual forecast
The console’s US price rose to US$499.99 on September 1, while software sales increased during the six-month reporting period.

Nintendo sold 2.67 million Switch 2 consoles in the quarter through September, a 41% decline from a year earlier. Despite the drop, the company retained its projection of 16.5 million console sales for the year ending March 2027.
Quarterly hardware sales were also below the preceding quarter’s 3.82 million units. For the six-month period through September 30, sales totaled 6.49 million, down 37.4% from 10.36 million a year earlier. The earlier period included the console’s launch.
A US price increase announced in May took effect on September 1. The US$50 rise brought the console’s price to US$499.99 from US$449.99. Nintendo cited changing market conditions, including higher memory costs.
Price increases in the United States, Canada and Europe covered only the last month of the six-month reporting period. Nintendo’s annual hardware forecast is roughly 16.9% below the previous year’s 19.86 million sales.
Software sales moved in the opposite direction from hardware. Switch 2 game sales reached 24.49 million over the six months, an increase of 18.8%, while digital sales grew 60.5% from a year earlier.
