Sony has announced a November 19 release for its PlayStation Pulse wireless headset, priced at US$99.99, £89.99, €99.99 or ¥15,980. Buyers will have a choice of White or Midnight Black.

The company will begin taking preorders on October 29 across markets including Canada, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, the US and UK, along with much of Europe. The Pulse is the lowest-priced planar magnetic headset in Sony’s PS5 range.

Its custom planar magnetic drivers are larger than those in the Pulse Elite. Sony says they provide precise spatial sound and stronger bass while preserving clarity. Each driver has four magnets, compared with eight in the higher-tier Pulse Edge, which Sony says is due in early 2027.

An included USB Type-C adapter provides PlayStation Link connectivity, which Sony says supports lossless sound at very low latency. The headset can switch among PS5, PlayStation Portal, PC and Mac while maintaining a simultaneous Bluetooth connection. Other features include AI-based microphone noise rejection, an earcup volume control and rotating earcups that fold flat.

The Pulse has a fixed microphone. Features reserved for the Pulse Edge include active noise cancellation, a carrying case, a 3.5 mm jack, PS5 game/chat balance adjustment and a detachable boom microphone with a concealed backup.
