Ravical secures US$17 million seed round for accounting AI expansion
MMC Ventures led the investment as the Belgian startup prepares to broaden its European operations and launch in the US.

Ravical has raised US$17 million to expand its accounting and tax AI business, securing seed investment led by MMC Ventures. The Belgian startup intends to grow in Europe and introduce its software in the US.
The round brought in Shapers as a new investor, while Lakestar and Pitchdrive returned as backers. Ravical said more than 100 European accounting firms use its software. Expansion spending will include its established markets: Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands and the UK.
The company describes its technology as a way to extend experienced employees’ judgment throughout an accounting firm. It records how those staff assess cases and advise clients, then uses AI to apply their approach more broadly. Managers can also review potential risks and opportunities among clients.
Chief executive Joris Van Der Gucht said individual AI assistants do not necessarily translate into improvements for an entire firm. Ravical argues that staff shortages and fewer graduates entering accounting limit firms’ ability to meet increasing demand through recruitment.
Ravical’s own survey found that 70% of small and medium-sized UK businesses follow AI-generated advice without consulting their accountant. MMC Ventures general partner Mina Samaan said Ravical targets firm-wide work, contrasting it with accounting AI startups focused on individual tasks.
