OnePlus has begun distributing its stable Android 17 update in India, moving the OnePlus 15 and OnePlus Pad 4 from OxygenOS to ColorOS 17. The two devices are the first to make the transition as the company retires OxygenOS.

The rollout follows a beta testing period and starts ahead of the company's original October 29 timetable. Only those two models are included in the initial group. A further round is scheduled for October 30, with the OnePlus 13 among the devices included.

Other phones confirmed for the update include previous-generation flagship models and several Nord devices. OnePlus describes ColorOS 17 as emphasizing AI features, smoother interactions and easier movement between tasks and devices.

OxygenOS began as an Android interface close to the stock version before evolving into a globally adapted form of Oppo's ColorOS. Its retirement was announced alongside the shutdown of most of OnePlus' global operations, with existing devices set to move to ColorOS.
