Nintendo warns Zelda Switch 2 repairs may use standard-color parts
Japanese packaging cautions that repairs to the anniversary console and Pro Controller may not preserve their special-edition appearance.

Nintendo has cautioned that owners of its Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition Switch 2 and matching Pro Controller could receive standard-color components during repairs. The warning appears on Japanese packaging shared by Nintendo Patents Watch and means servicing may change the appearance of the limited-edition hardware.
The packaging identifies the products as special editions and says repairs could use components intended for standard models. North American and European packaging does not carry the same message, but Nintendo’s U.S. service terms contain a similar provision allowing refurbished replacements to have new housing.
The green-and-gold Joy-Con 2 controllers bundled with the console are not sold separately by Nintendo. If damage makes a controller impossible to repair, an owner may have to accept a different color. The anniversary Pro Controller and the dock’s black-and-gold finish could also be affected by the availability of matching parts.
Not every repair involves edition-specific components: the screen, cooling fan and battery are also used in other versions of the system.
