Microsoft reports nearly 50% quarterly growth in Copilot daily users
Chief executive Satya Nadella said daily usage was more than five times the year-earlier level, but Microsoft did not disclose how many people pay for Copilot.

Microsoft’s Copilot saw its daily user count rise nearly 50% during the three months to September, chief executive Satya Nadella said during the company’s October 28 earnings call. Daily usage exceeded five times the year-earlier level, though Microsoft did not provide a count of paying users.
In posts on X after the call, Nadella outlined changes bringing Copilot’s Chat, Cowork, Autopilot and Code functions into a single experience. He said satisfaction among users increased nearly 20% during the quarter. Customers holding more than 50,000 Copilot seats numbered eight times as many as a year earlier.
The customer count for usage-based Copilot payments increased more than 75% in the quarter, Nadella said. Separately, chief financial officer Amy Hood said the Microsoft 365 E7 bundle had millions of seats, CNBC reported.
Nadella also reported growth at Foundry, which he described as part of the platform supporting Microsoft’s AI products. Its revenue was more than triple the year-earlier level. The customer count for development using multiple models rose five times, while revenue associated with open-source models increased ten times.
Agent 365 now hosts more than 50 million AI agents, a quarterly increase of 30%, Nadella said. Microsoft is connecting the service with Windows to support agents operating within security limits on devices. He said its Perception feature applies identity, permission, monitoring and containment controls outside the AI model.
