Maxinsights raises US$30 million for robot training data
The startup also introduced video-checking software and a sensor glove as it expands its collection of footage showing people performing everyday tasks.

Santa Clara startup Maxinsights announced US$30 million in seed financing led by Peak XV to develop robot training data from recordings of people doing household and workplace tasks. Other investors included Alumni Ventures, INCE Capital, South Park Commons and Tola Capital.
The company pays contractors to record activities such as preparing smoothies, washing cars and loading dishwashers. More than 5,000 contractors across six countries use cameras worn on their heads, wrists and chests. Local staffing businesses recruit the workers, while Maxinsights oversees them directly.
Maxinsights says its collection exceeds 2 million hours, with 1.5 million hours suitable for model training. It reports more than 30 customers, including frontier AI laboratories, with eight customers under recurring contracts.
Alongside the financing, the startup introduced MaxLoop and MaxGlove. MaxLoop evaluates incoming recordings for camera positioning, worker activity and task completion. Maxinsights says operators receive feedback within the same day rather than waiting one to two weeks, and puts the reduction in review costs at roughly 80%.
MaxGlove, being developed with Genesis AI, synchronizes video with measurements of grip force, object weight and changes in contact during tasks. Maxinsights aims to collect 1 million hours of force data in 2027.
The startup says it provided the entire 200,000-hour first-person dataset used for Genesis AI's GENE-26.5 model. It also describes itself as the largest data supplier for Dyna Robotics' Dyna-2 model. Maxinsights has offices in China and Indonesia and plans additional locations in Turkey and Mexico.
