Apple will offer limited stock of its first foldable iPhone, the iPhone Duo, to customers without pre-orders when it launches, the company told 9to5Mac. The availability applies to stores in selected countries, with most locations in Italy also included.

In an interview with TechRadar ahead of the launch, Apple marketing SVP Greg Joswiak said the company had kept some phones for stores rather than allocating all of them to pre-orders. He described pre-order demand as extraordinary and said customers understood what Apple was doing with the device.

Apple's list of markets with walk-in availability includes Canada, Mexico and the United States; Australia, Macao and Singapore; and Austria, Belgium, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Türkiye and the UK. In Italy, the company specified availability at most stores rather than all locations.

Joswiak is due to attend the iPhone Duo launch at Apple's Fifth Avenue flagship store in New York.
