Apple has released iOS 27.2, extending changes to Siri and the Podcasts app to CarPlay through connected iPhones. The CarPlay updates include the ability to recall earlier conversations and a reorganized podcast interface, according to 9to5Mac.

Siri can now retrieve details from previous exchanges, allowing users to ask the assistant to repeat recommendations it gave earlier. It can also consult additional sources when preparing more detailed answers: voicemails, Safari browsing history, Reading List entries, Calendar event attendees and photos included in Messages.

In Podcasts, the Home tab no longer has an Up Next section. Two sections take its place: New Episodes, for finding recent installments, and Continue Playing, for resuming an episode from the point where playback stopped.

The Music app also gets a different icon. Its red design has been replaced by a black musical note against white, with the colors reversed when dark mode is enabled.

Separately, some users posting on the CarPlay subreddit report that APTV no longer works with their infotainment systems after installing iOS 27.2. APTV allows video playback on a car’s screen.
