Instagram has begun a U.S. trial of Features, a format allowing selected creators to post horizontal videos lasting up to 90 minutes, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The test targets podcasters, comedians and others producing longer videos.

Instagram VP of Product Tessa Lyons told The Hollywood Reporter that someone watching a podcast excerpt could continue watching or open the complete episode without switching away from Instagram.

Recommendations for the longer videos will appear on Explore and elsewhere in the app, according to the report. Reels used to direct audiences to those videos typically last around three minutes or less.

The trial follows Instagram’s earlier long-form video effort, IGTV, which it phased out while shifting attention to Reels. Instagram has also extended its Instagram for TV app to Apple TV users in the U.S.
