Deity Microphones has introduced the PR-2ii, a pocket audio recorder available in the United States and Japan. The package comes with an Avora lavalier microphone, priced at US$259 in the United States and ¥45,100 in Japan.

The company says its new dual-ADC preamp lowers self-noise by 5.4 dB against the previous model. Recording options include mono audio in 32-bit float format and stereo audio at 24-bit. A PSRAM-backed buffer is designed to retain usable audio following an interruption or file corruption.

The 55 g device has an integrated belt clip, IP54 protection against dust and splashes, and a 600-nit screen. It accepts microSD storage with capacities reaching 1 TB. Timecode can be synchronized through either wired or wireless connections, while the Sidus Audio app provides remote control.

Deity puts battery life at more than 20 hours using two AA batteries. That is below the 30 hours advertised for the original PR-2. The new model is aimed at videographers, documentary crews and content creators.
