BYD has announced its 2027 Seagull electric car, priced from $9,800, with higher-priced versions offering charging to 70% capacity in five minutes. That charging capability uses the company's 1.5 MW Flash Charger stations and is not available on every trim.

Versions equipped with a 39.2 kWh Blade Battery 2.0 cost up to $14,900. The model's maximum stated range is 420 km under the CLTC testing cycle, while a smaller 30.1 kWh battery offers 320 km under the same cycle.

The redesigned Seagull measures 4,205 mm in length, an increase of 425 mm, and has a 2,650 mm wheelbase. Seating capacity rises from four to five. A single rear motor provides either 85 kW or 95 kW, depending on the version.

Equipment includes a 15.6-inch display with a computer running DeepSeek AI, a 50 W wireless charger and front seats with heating and ventilation. The driver also gets a seat massage function. BYD's LiDAR-equipped DiPilot 300 driver-assistance system is optional.
