Brax has announced Wink, a compact, modular phone with a removable QWERTY keyboard and privacy-focused software called BraxOS. Preorders are available in two batches, starting at $449 for the first batch against a full price of $700.

Shipping for the first batch is expected to start in July 2027. The second batch requires a $30 deposit, with another $520 payable in July 2027 and shipment scheduled for September 2027. Buyers receive a keyboard, translucent case and USB-C cable.

The touchscreen uses a 4-inch OLED panel. Wink comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, expandable through microSD by up to an additional 1TB. Its rear camera is 50MP; there is no front-facing camera. Brax says it supports global LTE and 5G bands, alongside physical SIM and eSIM connectivity.

The keyboard responds to finger movements across its keys for swiping and scrolling. A product video indicates that users can exchange it for a larger battery module or use the handset without a keyboard. Battery capacity has not been disclosed. A customizable hardware switch can turn off the camera and microphones.

Brax says its modified Android software excludes vendor trackers and ads, and promises software updates through 2032. Data-erasure options include triggers tied to a duress password, repeated failed unlocks, an extended powered-off period or every restart.

BraxOS also offers encrypted calls and texts between Brax users, sensor controls and a charging-only setting for the USB-C port. Its focus mode provides essential tools while blocking access to apps installed through third-party stores.
