Customers trying to pre-order more than two iPhone Duo devices through Apple's online stores face a checkout warning telling them to reduce their order. Checks covering the US, Japan, Spain and the United Kingdom found the same restriction, regardless of the configurations selected.

MacRumors said it was unclear when the cap took effect. Posts in Reddit's iPhone Duo community indicated that some buyers managed to order more than two devices after pre-orders began on October 16. Apple previously described demand as extraordinary, and shipping dates were pushed into 2027 shortly after pre-orders opened. Each Apple store checked listed January 22 as its estimated shipping date. Some customers, however, reported receiving revised estimates indicating earlier delivery.

Best Buy listed earlier dates for both pickup and shipping: November 10 for the 512GB Duo and December 14 for the 256GB version.
