Apple cannot predict when iPhone Duo shortages will end
New orders have January delivery estimates, while Apple is offering replacements to customers affected by display problems.

Apple cannot yet say when it will produce enough iPhone Duo devices to meet demand, CEO John Ternus told Reuters after the company reported earnings. He said production was increasing, but the company remained unable to supply all customers seeking the device.
New iPhone Duo orders have estimated delivery dates in January. Stores have also had limited inventory available for customers making reservations online.
Separately, Ternus said returns linked to display problems represented a very small proportion of units, and that Apple was providing replacements. The company had previously acknowledged a problem affecting the inner screens of some devices and told affected customers to contact AppleCare.
Apple reported revenue of US$114.5 billion for its September quarter, a record for that quarter and an increase of 12 percent from a year earlier. Those results exclude iPhone Duo sales because the device became available after the reporting period closed.
