Apple has introduced an M6-powered iMac, its first update to the all-in-one desktop in two years, with availability beginning November 6. The company said customers can place pre-orders through its website or Apple Store app from October 28 at 10:10 a.m. Pacific Time.

The desktop has a 24-inch display with 4.5K Retina resolution and supports Wi-Fi 7. Apple said the M6 configuration offers up to 12 CPU cores and 12 GPU cores.

The 10-core version starts at US$1,499 and includes two Thunderbolt/USB 4 ports. Pricing for the 12-core version begins at US$1,699, with four Thunderbolt 4 ports. Each configuration comes with 16GB of unified memory, while standard storage is 256GB.

Apple is keeping the M4 iMac's color options for both versions. Buyers can choose silver, orange, purple, yellow, pink, green or blue, with the same selection offered across the two configurations.
