Brisbane, Australia, October 6, 2026 -- OctoPlus Plumbing & Gas launches Plus Club membership for Brisbane homeowners

OctoPlus Plumbing & Gas, a family-run residential plumbing and gasfitting business based in Morningside, Queensland, has launched Plus Club, an annual membership program for Brisbane homeowners. The membership, which starts at $149 per year, provides members with no assessment fees for property visits and a 10% discount on all repair and installation work. The launch is a direct response to cost-of-living pressures on households and rising customer acquisition costs for trade businesses.

OctoPlus Plumbing and Gas owner, Billy Muir, speaks with a newly enrolled Plus Club member.

Membership details and inclusions

Plus Club membership is available to homeowners across eligible Brisbane service areas. For an annual fee starting at $149, members receive no assessment fee when an OctoPlus technician visits their property to assess the situation and provide options and pricing before any work begins. Members also receive a 10% discount on all repair and installation work, along with access to members-only special offers throughout the year.

The membership includes an annual whole-home plumbing and gas health check. During this check, an OctoPlus technician reviews key plumbing and gas systems throughout the home, looking for signs of leaks, unusual water pressure, aging hot water components, deterioration, and other potential concerns. The goal is to identify small issues before they become larger and more expensive problems.

Over time, OctoPlus builds a digital history of each member's property, including previous repairs, installations, observations, and recommendations. This means the plumber arriving at the home is not starting from zero. They can see what work has previously been completed, understand the condition and history of key systems, and take the homeowner's priorities into account when recommending what should happen next. That ongoing knowledge can help identify patterns, prevent recurring problems, and allow homeowners to plan future maintenance before something becomes urgent.

Industry context and company background

The launch comes as the plumbing industry faces pressure from both sides. For homeowners, the rising cost of living means an unexpected plumbing repair can put significant pressure on the household budget. For established trade businesses, the cost of finding new customers through advertising and online marketing has increased dramatically. OctoPlus believes there is a better answer for both: build stronger, longer-term relationships with existing customers instead.

Formerly known as Brisbane Plumbing & Gas, OctoPlus has been looking after Brisbane families for more than 21 years. The business provides plumbing, gasfitting, hot water, blocked drain, water filtration, waste disposal unit, and pre-purchase plumbing inspection services for Brisbane households.

Company perspective

"We've been looking after Brisbane families for more than 21 years, and we want to get back to the idea that you shouldn't have to search Google and start from scratch every time you need a plumber," said OctoPlus director Billy Muir. "You should be able to call someone you already know and trust, who knows your home and has a history of what's been done there."

Muir said the membership is about shifting the relationship from emergency response to ongoing care. "Most people only think about calling a plumber when something has already gone wrong," he said. "But a lot of the expensive problems we see didn't happen overnight. There were warning signs beforehand. If we know the home, keep a record of what's happening, and see our customers regularly, we've got a much better chance of helping them avoid those nasty surprises."

The membership also reflects a deliberate push by OctoPlus to restore trust in an industry that has attracted its share of negative headlines and consumer skepticism. "We know people can feel nervous calling a trade," Muir said. "They're wondering whether someone will actually turn up, whether they can trust what they're being told, and how much it is going to cost. We want our members to feel completely different about that. We want them to know, 'These are our plumbers. We know them. We trust them. They know our home, and if something goes wrong, we know who to call.'"

For OctoPlus, that relationship ultimately allows the business to do more than repair problems. It means helping customers keep their homes safe, comfortable, and working properly, while preventing avoidable issues and helping families spend their maintenance dollars more wisely. In an era of rising living costs, rising business costs, and increasingly transactional service, OctoPlus believes there is value in returning to something much simpler: a trusted relationship with a local plumber.
