"Before the Adventure" is a gripping tale that follows Master Gunnery Sergeant Travis Tolbane, USMC (Ret.), who served in Vietnam twice. As an interrogator, Tolbane's life takes an unexpected turn when he catches a thief, a Marine Private, attempting to steal merchandise. Little did he know that this encounter would haunt him in his after-military life, even costing him his first true love. Settling in a small Tennessee town, Tolbane faces a series of challenges that lead to kidnapping, murder, and the unraveling of his personal life.
Harold W. Weist, the author of "Before the Adventure," is a twenty-year retired Marine Veteran. Born and raised in Findlay, Ohio, Weist joined the United States Marine Corps at the age of 17. Throughout his military service, he had a variety of assignments on
both sides of the ocean, including tours in the Republic of Vietnam. After retiring in 1973, Weist moved to Florida City, Florida, where he worked in nuclear security and retail security. He also volunteered with the Red Cross, teaching first aid and conducting water safety instructor classes. Weist later relocated to Mount Juliet, Tennessee, where he obtained an Associate Degree in Management. He has been actively involved with Veterans Service Organizations, including the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, and The Vietnam Veterans of America.
