OC Fair 2019: Lighthouse Alumni Attend This Year’s Acres of Fun

July 12, 2019 - /PressAdvantage/ - Anaheim, California – The Lighthouse Treatment Center, a drug and alcohol residential treatment facility in Anaheim, CA, is sponsoring a trip for its alumni members to the OC Fair 2019, which opens on the 12th of July to the 11th of August. This trip is a part of the weekly events the Lighthouse Alumni Program organizes for its participants during the summer season.

The OC Fair is one of the most loved summer events in Southern California. In 2018, more than 1.4 million people attended the event. Attendees love that the OC Fair has something to offer for the entire family with food stalls, carnival rides, games, live music, free shows, exhibits, shopping, farm animals, contests, and more.

Katie R, another Lighthouse Alumni shared that she never misses the chance to attend the OC Fair with the Lighthouse team so she takes her family every year. “The OC fair is my favorite Alumni event! I've been bringing my family every year for the last 4 years. It's awesome to be able to bring my family to a fun event that also gets me and my husband back together with our fellow alumni and friends in recovery. Thank you, Lighthouse and OC Fair, for such a great event that we look forward to each year!”

A day at the Orange County Fair has always been one of the biggest events of the Lighthouse Alumni Program’s summer calendar for the past several years. All participants attend the OC Fair as a group and each alumnus receives an unlimited ride wristband as well. This year, the theme of the OC Fair is Acres of Fun and it promises to be as exciting as the years before.

According to Lighthouse alumni Dana K, attending the event is an enjoyable way to spend valuable time with her fellow alumni and make lasting friendships with like-minded people. “I have an absolute blast with my new friends in sobriety at the OC Fair! Thank you, Lighthouse,” she said.

Threat to US elections not limited to Russia in 2020

Feb 20, 2020

WASHINGTON — Russia interfered in the 2016 election and may try to sway next year's vote as well. But it's not the only nation with an eye on U.S. politics. American officials sounding the alarm about foreign efforts to disrupt the 2020 election include multiple countries in that warning. Concerns abound not only about possible hacking of campaigns, but also about the spread of disinformation on social media and potential efforts to breach voting databases and even alter votes. The anxiety goes beyond the possibility that U.S. adversaries could directly affect election results: The mere hint of foreign meddling could...

WASHINGTON — A top executive of Chinese tech giant Huawei said Friday that the company is prepared to be "open and transparent" as it looks to persuade the U.S. government that it can be trusted and that national security concerns about its technology are unfounded. Feb 20, 2020

FRANKFORT, Ky. — Apple on Tuesday deepened its ties with a Kentucky manufacturing plant by awarding $250 million to support Corning Inc.'s continued work to develop glass for iPhones and other devices. The award builds on the $200 million that Corning received from Apple's Advanced Manufacturing Fund in 2017, the tech giant said. The combined investments support Corning's research and development that will be crucial for next-generation consumer devices, Apple said. Scratch-resistant glass for every generation of iPhone has been made at Corning's plant in Harrodsburg, Kentucky. Corning also supplies glass for iPads and Apple Watches. No Deal: Auto workers strike against GM in contract dispute

Feb 20, 2020

DETROIT — More than 49,000 members of the United Auto Workers walked off General Motors factory floors or set up picket lines early Monday as contract talks with the company deteriorated into a strike. Workers shut down 33 manufacturing plants in nine states across the U.S., as well as 22 parts distribution warehouses. It wasn't clear how long the walkout would last, with the union saying GM has budged little in months of talks while GM said it made substantial offers including higher wages and factory investments. It's the first national strike by the union since a two-day walkout in...
