Norfolk Holiday Homes Offered To People On Vacation

November 13, 2019 - /PressAdvantage/ - Norfolk's Hidden Gems, based in Norfolk, UK, has been offering holiday homes to people who plan to stay in Norfolk for a holiday for many years. One recent addition is Coastguard Cottage, which is a 4-bedroom semi-detached home with a capacity to house 8 people. It is located on the coastal path East of Weybourne. It is uniquely located by the edge of the cliff-top and it is within easy reach from Sheringham to the East. The cottage offers a quiet location on top of a 40-foot cliff overlooking the North Norfolk Coast. More about the Coastguard Cottage can be gleaned from https://www.norfolkshiddengems.co.uk/holiday-cottage/coastguard-cottage/.

Kevin Conroy, the owner of Norfolk's Hidden Gems, says, “Coastguard Cottage is something different, quite an experience. This Cottage has just that something, encouraging friends and/or families to make memories they can treasure. Some cottages have character, this one is characterful with a capital C by the sea. Historically the actual coastguard lookout station for Weybourne on the North Norfolk coast; the duty room is now the living room.”

The 40-foot cliff provides a dramatic view but is made safe by newly installed fencing. The owner has also recently set up solar electricity because the property is off-grid. And once inside the cottage, guests will begin to get a feel for the history and character of the property.

The living room is on the first floor and was the old coastguard duty room used constantly to keep a lookout over that part of the North Norfolk coast. It now affords an exceptional view from the property.

On the ground floor is the dining room where there is a large table and lots of room for seating. There is an open fireplace and there are bookcases all around. Those who are interested can learn more about this holiday home by visiting their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/coastguardcottageweybourne/.

The front and side of the Coastguard Cottage has a lawn and the area is surrounded by fencing and high hedges. The driveway is long enough to accommodate several vehicles. Thus, guests can bring several cars, and even a boat or a sailing dinghy. And just outside the main gate of the Coastguard Cottage is a swing gate that allows people to enter the Norfolk Coastal Path.

A nearby town is the popular coastal town of Sheringham with several amenities, such as a steam train, which can be seen passing the property from some of the upper floor bedroom windows on its way to Holt.

This town has a number of activities and events throughout the year. It has several local shops and there is a small Tesco store on the coast road. Guests can also visit the beachfront Life-Boat museum. And there are also a number of pubs and restaurants that provide a view of the sea.

Aside from Coastguard Cottage, there are many more holidays available for rent through Norfolk’s Hidden Gems. Examples are Pebble House, Cherry Tree Cottage, Nan's Cottage, Park Farm Barn and Courtyard Barn.

Pebble House is one of the dog-friendly cottages in Norfolk. It has the capacity for six people with its three large bedrooms. The Cherry Tree Cottage and Nan's Cottage are located near the edge of the Briston village. They are a very cosy cottage that mix red brick and flint on their exterior to provide that typical Norfolk Cottage feel. They have the capacity for four or six people respectively. They overlook acres of arable farmland to provide that countryside feeling.

Threat to US elections not limited to Russia in 2020

Dec 8, 2019

WASHINGTON — Russia interfered in the 2016 election and may try to sway next year's vote as well. But it's not the only nation with an eye on U.S. politics. American officials sounding the alarm about foreign efforts to disrupt the 2020 election include multiple countries in that warning. Concerns abound not only about possible hacking of campaigns, but also about the spread of disinformation on social media and potential efforts to breach voting databases and even alter votes. The anxiety goes beyond the possibility that U.S. adversaries could directly affect election results: The mere hint of foreign meddling could...

Dec 8, 2019

WASHINGTON — A top executive of Chinese tech giant Huawei said Friday that the company is prepared to be "open and transparent" as it looks to persuade the U.S. government that it can be trusted and that national security concerns about its technology are unfounded. "The first thing we need to do is we need to demystify this company," Paul Scanlan, chief technology officer of Huawei's carrier business group, said in an interview with The Associated Press. "We are a Chinese company, we are based in China, the majority of the people are ethnically Chinese, so there's nothing to say...

Apple awards $250 million to supplier of glass for iPhones

Dec 8, 2019

FRANKFORT, Ky. — Apple on Tuesday deepened its ties with a Kentucky manufacturing plant by awarding $250 million to support Corning Inc.'s continued work to develop glass for iPhones and other devices. The award builds on the $200 million that Corning received from Apple's Advanced Manufacturing Fund in 2017, the tech giant said. The combined investments support Corning's research and development that will be crucial for next-generation consumer devices, Apple said. Scratch-resistant glass for every generation of iPhone has been made at Corning's plant in Harrodsburg, Kentucky. Corning also supplies glass for iPads and Apple Watches. "Apple and Corning's rich...

No Deal: Auto workers strike against GM in contract dispute

Dec 8, 2019

DETROIT — More than 49,000 members of the United Auto Workers walked off General Motors factory floors or set up picket lines early Monday as contract talks with the company deteriorated into a strike. Workers shut down 33 manufacturing plants in nine states across the U.S., as well as 22 parts distribution warehouses. It wasn't clear how long the walkout would last, with the union saying GM has budged little in months of talks while GM said it made substantial offers including higher wages and factory investments. It's the first national strike by the union since a two-day walkout in...
