NetworkNewsBreaks – Marijuana Company of America, Inc. (MCOA) JV Completes Setup of 10,000 sq. ft. Greenhouse Space

Innovative hemp and cannabis corporation Marijuana Company of America (OTC: MCOA) this morning announced the completion of the setup of 10,000 sq. ft. of greenhouse space in its Washington-based joint venture (“JV”) with Bougainville Ventures, Inc. Pending the completion of an anticipated inspection this week, the tenant grower will be able to commence cultivation in the greenhouse space. The setup marks the first 10,000 of an intended 30,000 square foot facility with the capacity to hold approximately 4,000 plants. “As landlords we are looking forward to providing a turnkey property to the first of hopefully many licensed tenants in Washington. Providing a turnkey facility for tenant growers is an ideal cultivation environment for tenants with minimal start-up capital and consistent rental income for MCOA,” MCOA CEO Donald Steinberg stated in the news release.

Justices adopt digital-age privacy rules to track cellphones

Jun 23, 2018

WASHINGTON — Police generally need a warrant to look at records that reveal where cellphone users have been, the Supreme Court ruled Friday in a big victory for privacy interests in the digital age. The justices' 5-4 decision marks a big change in how police may obtain information that phone companies collect from the ubiquitous cellphone towers that allow people to make and receive calls, and transmit data. The information has become an important tool in criminal investigations. Chief Justice John Roberts, joined by the court's four liberals, said cellphone location information "is detailed, encyclopedic and effortlessly compiled." Roberts wrote...

Jun 23, 2018

CHICAGO — Now that the world's leading public health group says too much Minecraft can be an addiction, could overindulging in chocolate, exercise, even sex, be next? The short answer is probably not. The new "gaming disorder" classification from the World Health Organization revives a debate in the medical community about whether behaviors can cause the same kind of addictive illness as drugs. The strictest definition of addiction refers to a disease resulting from changes in brain chemistry caused by compulsive use of drugs or alcohol. The definition includes excessive use that damages health, relationships, jobs and other parts of...

World Cup games to air on free TV amid problems in Australia

Jun 23, 2018

SYDNEY — Rather than risk further outrage from football fans, rights holders in Australia have agreed to keep sharing World Cup matches with free-to-air TV until the end of the group stage. Telecommunications company Optus bought the broadcast rights for most World Cup games in Russia but technical issues with the live streaming in Australia caused a major backlash from subscription buyers — to the point where the prime minister had to intervene. The SBS network, which retained the broadcasting rights for Australia's games and the World Cup final under a sharing agreement with Optus for the 2018 tournament, initially...
